Fund-raising and raising awareness in schools and universities

Would you like to help us raise funds and awareness about EB and DEBRA at your school?

The DEBRA Fundraiser would love to hear from children and teachers at school and students at college and Uni, who are interested in spreading the word about EB and fundraising for us.

Our Fundraiser can come in to your school and give a talk and attend your events. And the children´s book “Una Mariposa diferente” (in spanish) is available t oread out to children aged 3-12.

Company Fund-raising

Companies can support us in a wide range of activities, from Charity of the Year, sponsoring one of our Charity Golf Tournaments, Payroll Giving, Employee Fundraising & volunteering and cause related fundraising. Whether employer or employee, please find out how you can support us.

Company Donations

Donations are always welcome and a gift from your company can directly help those affected by EB whilst bringing benefits to your organisation. You will have the satisfaction of knowing that your contribution will help provide a better future for those affected by EB. Donations can also be tax efficient. Your donation can be fully acknowledged if you wish or it can remain anonymous.

Corporate Partnerships

Through developing a Corporate Partnership, socially responsible companies can increase market share, raise their profile amongst their stakeholders (stakeholders, customers and future employees) and boost motivation with staff. These are only some of the benefits of being involved in a good cause. Whatever your corporate objectives are in this respect we would be delighted to help you achieve them.

Charity of the Year

We are always interested to hear from companies who are considering adopting us as their Charity of the Year. We are keen to discuss imaginative and innovative ways for this partnership to flourish and provide real tangible benefits to you and those affected by EB.

Sponsorship

Any sponsorship of DEBRA is fully appreciated. Perhaps your organisation can help by sponsoring an event, or providing a venue. Perhaps you wish to donate prizes or help with advertising and/or printing costs. However you can help we would be delighted to hear from you.

Payroll Contributions

You can help DEBRA through payroll contributions where a small regular donation can be deducted each month or week. This is hugely appreciated, has the additional benefit of tax from the government and is a very popular way of providing long term support to DEBRA in its work in aid of Butterfly children.

A to Z charitable ideas (extracted from DEBRA UK webpage)

Auction of Promises. Try to get people to donate a promise of their time, use of their belongings, or to donate a gift. All of us have something to offer.

Biggest Party. Invite your friends, family or colleagues to a party - big or small - charge them for the privilege of your hospitality and donate the proceeds to DEBRA.

Charity of the Year. Ask your company to make DEBRA their Charity of the Year. Your company will get the full support of DEBRA. Ask your finance department to organise Payroll Giving to benefit DEBRA. Call DEBRA for more information.

Dinner Party. Organise a dinner party and ask for a contribution from your guests for DEBRA. Organise a raffle or an auction.

Expert Seminar. Use an expert or well known personality, who is prepared to donate their time to give a talk or performance. Charge admission, have a break to sell refreshments and an auction of a signed book or autograph.

Halloween Ball. Sell tickets to a fancy dress Halloween Ball.

Inspire someone! DEBRA needs to raise awareness and funds and you can help us to do so by helping us to “inspire” people. Become an ambassador for Buttterfly children and we´ll help you become a true ambassador of the cause!

Just Giving. If you want to do a sponsored event, create a page on www.justgiving.com, where your friends and family can sponsor you.

Karaoke Evening. Ask a local pub to host one for you and charge people to get in or take part.

Legacy. Leaving a legacy in your will can really make a difference to the lives of people with EB and bring us one step closer to effective treatments and ultimately a cure. Please contact info@debra.es for more information.

Marathon. Run for DEBRA in one of many races across Spain or abroad. Contact info@debra.es

Naughty but Nice. Organise a Cream Tea in aid of DEBRA.

Outward bound weekends. This is the perfect way to promote team work within your company while raising money for the charity.

Publicity. Send a press release to all your local papers asking for sponsorship from the companies and individuals.

Quiz Night. For pubs, companies, schools or friends. A friendly challenge, with prizes for the winning team and most inventive answer!

Remember to tell friends and colleagues about DEBRA Spain and the Butterfly children. The more we talk about the cause, the less lonely families will feel and the stronger we´ll become when lobbying for services to be provided for EB patients within the NHS.

Sponsored Event. Runs, Challenges, Swim, Slim, Headshave - ask your colleagues and friends to raise sponsorship money for you in a fun way.

Think global, act local. Tell your foreign friends about DEBRA and help them locate the DEBRA in their country: www.debra-international.org This will help us raise awareness and funds.

University Challenge. Get together with your old uni friends - perhaps through Facebook - and have a challenge!

Volunteering. We always need volunteer support for our shops. A rewarding way of raising much need income for DEBRA. Please contact info@debra.es

Wine Tasting. Invite an expert or local wine dealer to bring along a few cases of wine and donate some of the proceeds of his sales to the charity.

Xmas. Buy a Christmas voucher from DEBRA. Or go carol singing for DEBRA. Or have a Christmas party for DEBRA.

Your own Lottery. Works exactly the same way as the National Lottery, only you have a better chance of winning!
