Marbella, 6 de junio de 2011.- El pasado sábado 4 se celebró la IX edición del ya clásico Torneo benéfico de golf “Niños Mariposa” en el Club de Golf Aloha (de Marbella), siendo los ganadores D. Francisco Soler (en “caballeros”, de la Federación de Madrid) y Dª Rosmarie Bromdner (en “señoras”, del Club Greenlife). Aunque, los verdaderos ganadores del torneo fueron todos los afectados por Piel de Mariposa que podrán seguir recibiendo atención socio-sanitaria y psicológica, gracias a los casi 80.000 euros recaudados en el evento.

Marbella, 6th of June 2011.- On Saturday 4th of June, the IX edition of the Niños Mariposa golf and dinner fund-raising event took place at the Aloha Golf Club, with Francisco Soler and Rosmarie Bromdner as winners of the golf tournament. But the real winners were the Butterfly children who, thanks to the 80,000€ raised, will be able to continue receiving the support from the DEBRA Spain nurses.

En el torneo participaron 178 jugadores y se repartieron atractivos premios en cada uno de sus 18 hoyos, además de los 10 principales (5 para caballeros y 5 para señoras) valorados en más de 30.000 €.  Entre los más destacados, estuvieron los fines de semana en hoteles como Puente Romano 5*, Marbella Club 5*, Meliá Sancti Petri 5*, La Caminera Golf 5*, Gran Hotel de Peñíscola 4*, Fuerte Rompido 4*, Parador de Málaga Golf 4*, Termas – Balneario de Archena 4*, Cabogata Plaza Suites 4* y Valle del Este 4*.

178 players participated in the tournament in which incredible prizes were awarded on each of the 18 holes, as well as to the first 5 classified gentleman and first 5 classified ladies. The overall prizes were valued in more than 30,000€ making it the event with most prizes of the coast. The most attractive prizes were week-ends away in luxurious hotels such as Puente Romano, Marbella Club Meliá Sancti Petri 5*, La Caminera Golf 5*, Gran Hotel de Peñíscola 4*, Fuerte Rompido 4*, Parador de Málaga Golf 4*, Termas – Balneario de Archena 4*, Cabogata Plaza Suites 4* and Valle del Este 4*.

Después del torneo, tuvo lugar la Cena benéfica en la terraza del Aloha Club, con la asistencia de 140 personas y la actuación de música en directo a cargo del grupo de baile Al-Kamra –que deslumbró con su coreografía arabesca-- el cantante Mel Williams y la banda Shameless. Durante la cena tuvo lugar una rifa con multitud de regalos y una subasta más que interesante en la que los asistentes pujaron hasta los 1.300 € por un bosquejo de Severiano Ballesteros, los 1.100 € por un driver de Miguel Ángel Jiménez y unos cuadros de edición limitada del Club de Golf de Loch Lomond, los 1.000 € por una camiseta del Barça firmada por sus jugadores y los 900 € por un libro y bolsa de golf con los participantes en la VOLVO World Match Play Championship 2011.

After the tournament, DEBRA Spain celebrated their well-known dinner on the Aloha Golf club terrace. There were three live-music shows including the belly dancing group Al-Kamra –which left everyone in awe of their choreography- the singer Mel Williams and the band “Shameless”. During the dinner, the raffle and the auction had great success, having people bidding for prizes such as a sketch of Severiano Ballesteros drawn by Harold Riley, a driver of Miguel Ángel Jimenez, a Barcelona football shirt signed by the players, 3 limited edition prints of the Loch Lomond Golf Club and a book of the VOLVO World Match Play Championship signed by all the players.

La recaudación total del torneo de golf y la cena benéfica ascendieron a 40.000 € que, gracias a un convenio que se va a firmar entre la Fundación ROSEde la CAM (Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo), el Club de Golf de Aloha y DEBRA España, hará que dicha Fundación doble la recaudación, llegando hasta los 80.000 €. Todos los beneficios recaudados serán destinados al proyecto de Apoyo a personas con Piel de Mariposa y familiares. Una iniciativa que permite apoyar a las familias desde el momento del nacimiento de un bebé afectado por Piel de Mariposa, dar consejos sobre curas y mejoras en los tratamientos, orientar sobre trámites, ayudas técnicas y discapacidad y, en general, estar permanentemente en contacto con los afectados para apoyarles sanitaria, social y psicológicamente con el fin de aportarles mayor calidad de vida. La Piel de Mariposa, (Epidermólisis bullosa) es una gravísima enfermedad rara, crónica e incurable que provoca una extrema fragilidad en la piel, generando constantes heridas y gravísimas complicaciones, siendo la mayoría de afectados niños y niñas.

The funds raised during the golf and the dinner reached nearly 40,000€, and thanks to the Rose Trust, these funds will be doubled, making nearly 80,000€. All the funds raised will be dedicated to providing support to Butterfly children and their families. As soon as a baby is born, anywhere in Spain, the DEBRA Spain team (nurses, psychologist and social worker) provide support by helping the family as a whole, providing advice on the best bandaging techniques, helping them with subsidies, helping them learn to cope with the condition, etc.
